Devin Haney: Ryan Garcia Thinks Gervonta Davis Is The Easier Fight
Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have been a trio spoken heavily about over the past few years.
All three fighters have yet to face each other in a professional bout, despite the controversy between them.
Garcia is set to face Manny Pacquiao next in an exhibition bout, which is yet to have a finalised date.
Since defeating Luke Campbell, Garcia has stated he wants Gervonta Davis next.
Haney believes he knows the reason behind why Garcia wants Tank [Davis] next.
“I just feel like he thinks that Tank is the easier fight, than fighting me,” Haney said.
I’m not making this up, he thinks that Tank is an easier fight, because he just feels like it’s high-reward. Why not fight him?”
Tank is coming off a brutal sixth-round knockout finish over Leo Santa Cruz, in October, 2020.
Both Tank and Garcia verbally agreed to fight each other next on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin‘ podcast.
Garcia was a guest on Tyson’s podcast, when Tank called up an associate of Tyson’s via FaceTime.
Garcia stated “two rounds, baby, two rounds, you’re going to sleep.”
Tank responded by claiming he got dropped by somebody [Luke Campbell] that can’t even hit.
Haney gave some final comments the hosts of ‘The Ak & Barak Show.’
“I think that it’s a good fight, I think it’s a much better fight than what a lot of people think it will be,” Haney said.
“I think that Ryan is much bigger than Tank, we saw him at 130, but have we saw him at 135? Has he really showed up at 135?”
Haney, (25-0, 15 KO’s) defeated Yuriorkis Gamboa via unanimous decision in November, 2020.
He is yet to have a matchup for his next fight, but with the excitement of the lightweight division, he won’t be short of opponents.
Do you think Devin Haney or Gervonta Davis is a more dangerous matchup for Ryan Garcia?
