Devin Haney Says His Weight Has Never Been Better Ahead Of Vasyl Lomachenko Fight
Devin Haney says everything is on point for his title defense against Vasyl Lomachenko on Saturday.
Haney is set to defend his lightweight titles but many have thought this could be his final fight at 135lbs. However, he says his weight is good and he says this is the best his weight has ever been before a fight.
“My weight is good,” Haney said to reporters prior to his upcoming title defense. “I did everything right. I have a nutritionist for eight weeks this camp. Last camp I had him for four weeks. The first Kambosos fight I had him for six weeks. This camp I had him for eight weeks. I feel great. I feel strong. Man, I’m ready… Everybody knows how hard it is for me to stay at 135. So far, this has been the best my weight has been up until this point to the fight. And I feel great.”
With Devin Haney saying this is the best his weight has ever been he thinks there is a chance he stays at 135 for another fight. There are possible matchups against Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis, so Haney isn’t ruling out staying at 135 after Saturday night.
“My main focus is going in there and looking good, being victorious, and then we’ll see,” Haney said. “You know, I’ve gotta see how I feel under those lights. Right now, I feel great in the gym, I feel great working out, strong, just chilling. I don’t have to do too much [extra] training, too much overwork, but we gotta see how I feel in the ring.”
But, before any of those fights can happen, Haney will need to beat Lomachenko on Saturday.
Do you think Devin Haney will remain at 135lbs after his fight against Vasyl Lomachenko?
