Eddie Hearn Fires Back At Tyson Fury, Says They Both Have Zero Title Defenses
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn took a swipe back at Tyson Fury.
The WBC heavyweight champion recently fired a shot at Hearn by calling him a southern w*nker who had achieved nothing in his life (via Michael Benson).
“Eddie Hearn, he is a proper southern w***er… What’s he ever achieved in his life?” Fury said. “He goes around like he’s a champion, but he ain’t, he’s just a businessman.
“There’s plenty of them, but there’s only one real heavyweight champion and that’s me.”
To that, Hearn responded with a dig at Fury’s lack of title defenses:
“He said, ‘Eddie Hearn isn’t a champion.’ Well obviously, I’m a promoter. I’ll tell you one thing me and Tyson Fury have got in common though, we’ve both got the same amount of heavyweight world title defences – absolutely zero.”
Fury, of course, has never defended the heavyweight title before but there were plenty of circumstances involved.
Things will change when he faces Deontay Wilder in their trilogy next month though.
