Eddie Hearn Hits Back At Bob Arum: ‘Be Quiet & Wait For The Contract’

Hearn

Eddie Hearn has hit back at Bob Arum who has recently cast doubt over the proposed heavyweight mega-fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

A deal for the undisputed fight appeared to be done as both fighters agreed to clash in Saudi Arabia this summer for at least $75 million each.

However, contracts are yet to be signed and Arum has suggested the deal for Saudi Arabia to host the fight isn’t real and claimed he hadn’t heard from Hearn in more than a week. The 90-year-old promoter has even claimed Fury may pull out of the fight and instead face Deontay Wilder.

Hearn has now responded to Arum in an interview with TalkSPORT.

“I’m a bit worried about Bob Arum,” Hearn said. “I last communicated with Bob Arum on Thursday and Friday of last week and he gave an interview last night to say he hasn’t heard from me for two weeks. Five days ago he was telling everyone, ‘It’s done, it’s in Saudi Arabia, this is the deal, etc.’

The CEO of Matchroom Sports admits things are dragging on.

“It’s definitely taking a little bit longer than we anticipated, both guys have accepted the deal that’s come in from the Middle East, we’re papering that deal,” Hearn said “It’s not as easy as just a 24-hour turnaround of a long-form agreement for a fight of this magnitude. Bob Arum said, ‘Eddie Hearn, he’s run out of time. We’re supposed to be partners on this fight. The only one I see doing any work on this fight at all is me. And I won’t stop until we’ve got the fight made. “So we’re on the verge. We have an agreement, we have a signed contract, we have a site agreement that’s been accepted and now we put it in a long-form agreement and you get an announcement next week.”

Hearn’s thinks Arum should shut up and wait for the contract.

“It’s not something that’s turned around in a few days. We’re right across it, we can’t do any more. I’m a one-man army going out to make this fight.

“Like I said, no help from them, all they do is criticise, sitting in his gaff in Beverley Hills, Bob Arum, moaning. Get off your backside and do something about it yourself. No, I’ll tell you what, leave it to Eddie.

“Alright, well if you’re gonna leave it to me, be quiet and wait for the contract to come in. It’s on. Everybody’s agreed that this fight is happening and I cannot wait because Tyson Fury is going to get knocked out by Anthony Joshua.”

Do you think Eddie Hearn will get Joshua vs. Fury done?
