Eddie Hearn Promises To Make Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron 3
Eddie Hearn says he will do his best to make Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron 3.
Taylor and Cameron first met in May of last year and it was Cameron who won an upset decision win. They had an immediate in November and it was Taylor who avenged the loss with a majority decision win.
Since then, many fans have wanted to see the trilogy, but Cameron recently took to social media to say the trilogy is up to Taylor and her team.
“I have agreed to a massive purse reduction to make this fight happen financially,” Cameron posted on social media, “as this is what I was told was the hold-up from the fight being agreed. I wanted to create my own legacy. The trilogy not happening is down to Katie and her team, not me.”
Now, according to Eddie Hearn, the hope is to make the fight in 2024, but finding a venue has been challenging. Yet, the promoter says the plan is to have that fight happen this year.
“If it’s not in May, it will happen – and in 2024, as well,” Hearn told BBC Sport. “At the moment, we haven’t reached a deal. We’ve got a number of plans for Katie Taylor that we’re discussing. We’re putting together a road map for the next couple of fights. I want her to fight Chantelle Cameron, and she wants to fight Chantelle Cameron.”
However, the one potential reason for the trilogy not happening is if Taylor and Amanda Serrano agree to a rematch. But, the trilogy with Cameron is something many fans want to see, but it’s still uncertain if it will happen this year.
