Eddie Hearn Says Daniel Dubois Is A Very Dangerous Fight For Anthony Joshua
Eddie Hearn doesn’t think Daniel Dubois will be a walkover for Anthony Joshua as many suggest.
Joshua enters the bout on Saturday as the betting favorite, and many expect him to beat Dubois with ease. However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes it is a much harder fight than people realize.
“Most people believe AJ is the favorite in the fight, but Daniel is a very live underdog. He’s dangerous, he punches very hard. It will be interesting to see how he can deal with the occasion.” This is a very dangerous fight for Joshua. Hearn hasn’t said what his plan is if he loses to Dubois on Saturday, but it will be interesting to see what direction he takes if he gets beaten. In the past, Hearn had no problems making immediate rematches with Andy Ruiz Jr. and Oleksandr Usyk after Joshua lost to both guys,” Hearn said, via Boxing247.
It is an intriguing matchup, but even Eddie Hearn thinks this fight will be harder than some suggest. Dubois is also no stranger to upset wins, as he has won two straight fights, including being an underdog against Filip Hrgovic last time out.
Heading into the bout, Daniel Dubois he will pull off the upset as he thinks he will be able to beat Anthony Joshua and prove it is his time to reign the heavyweight division.
“I can’t wait for it. It’s my time. I can’t wait. You guys are going to see that this is my time. I’m the man. I need to go out there and legitimize it. I’m the champ,” Dubois said.
Anthony Joshua is 28-3 and is riding a four-fight winning streak and coming off a KO win over Francis Ngannou. Daniel Dubois, meanwhile, is 21-2 and coming off a TKO win over Hrgovic to become the interim IBF heavyweight title and has since been promoted to the undisputed IBF champ.
