Eddie Hearn Shares Prediction For Deontay Wilder vs. Robert Helenius
Eddie Hearn believes Deontay Wilder vs. Robert Helenius will be a very competitive fight.
Wilder is set to return to the ring on October 15 against Helenius in a crucial fight for ‘The Bronze Bomber’ as he’s lost two fights in a row will be returning for the first time in a year. After the second lost to Fury, he thought about retiring but he will now return and Hearn isn’t sold on Wilder being a legit title contender again.
“I’m still not sold about Deontay Wilder in terms of his all-around boxing ability,” said Hearn during an interview with Fight Hub TV. “But, he’s a tremendous puncher, he’s very exciting, he’s brilliant for the heavyweight division.”
Although Eddie Hearn isn’t sold on Deontay Wilder, he does think The Bronze Bomber can win the fight. However, he isn’t ruling out a win over Robert Helenius as he says it is a winnable fight for the Fin.
“The Kownacki victories probably glorified him a little bit. It looks like Adam is at the end of his career now but he still withstood some fire in there. Robert Helenius is a huge man. I think he can capitulate under pressure and anyone would under the power of Deontay Wilder. I do expect him to win but, that’s a winnable fight for Robert Helenius.”
Deontay Wilder (42-2-1), as mentioned, is coming off back-to-back stoppage losses to Tyson Fury to lose his titles. Before the setbacks against Fury, he knocked out Luis Ortiz and Dominic Breazeale after the draw against Fury.
Robert Helenius (31-3), is coming off back-to-back wins over Adam Kownacki and is on a three-fight winning streak as he also beat Mateus Roberto Osorio. His last loss was by knockout to Gerald Washington while his other losses came to Dillian Whyte and Johann Duhaupas.
