Errol Spence Jr. Claims Winner Of Terence Crawford Fight Will Be Best Boxer In The World
Errol Spence Jr. says the winner of his fight against Terence Crawford will decide who the best boxer in the world is.
Spence Jr. and Crawford are set to fight on July 29 in a massive fight and one that has been talked about for years. The winner will become the first fully unified welterweight champion of the four-belt era and Spence Jr. says the winner will be the best boxer in the world.
“Definitely, the winner of this fight will be the best fighter in boxing, period,” Spence Jr. told Premier Boxing Champions’ Ray Flores before he worked out at Fight Capital Gym (h/t BoxingScene).
With how big Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford is, Spence Jr. says he has felt the buzz and knows it is a massive fight. He says the casual boxing fans and the hardcore are both interested in the battle of undefeated fighters which adds to the hype of the scrap.
“I’m definitely feelin’ the buzz,” Spence Jr. said. “I been feelin’ the buzz. You know, I go to the store, go anywhere, and the first thing someone asks me is when me and Terence Crawford gonna fight? So, I knew it was a fight that, you know, I had to make happen, both of us had to make happen because this is what the public definitely wanted. This is what everybody wanted. This is what I wanted. This is what he wanted. And [this] will prove who is the man at the welterweight division – not only the man at the welterweight division, but who is the man in boxing.”
Errol Spence Jr. is 28-0 and coming off a TKO win over Yordenis Ugas last April and before that, he beat Danny Garcia by decision.
