Filip Hrgovic Says Previous Sparring Session Didn’t Go Well For Daniel Dubois
Filip Hrgovic says previous sparring sessions with Daniel Dubois didn’t go well for the Brit.
Hrgovic and Dubois are set to box on June 1 as part of the Queensberry vs. Matchroom 5×5 bill on the undercard of the Artur Beterbiev and Dmitrii Bivol title fight.
Going into the fight, Dubois is extremely confident he will get his hand raised and defeat Hrgovic.
“I am very confident,” said Dubois. “I’m working hard and ready to prove that I have changed. We had a spar a while back, and he [Hrgovic] keeps talking about that, so I want to show that people can change. I am a different animal now.”
Although Dubois is confident, Hrgovic offered a quick response saying he’s hope he improved as he says when they sparred it did not go well for the Brit.
“I hope he has changed because the fight will last only a few rounds if he didn’t change,” Hrgovic said. “So I do hope he has changed because that sparring we did together was not so good for him.”
Filip Hrgovic is 17-0 as a pro and coming off a first-round TKO win over Mark de Mori back in December. He also holds notable wins over Zhilei Zhang, and Eric Molina among others.
