Floyd Mayweather Battles Andre Berto On September 12
Following his unanimous decision win over Manny Pacquiao in May 2’s largely derided boxing “fight of the century,” undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he would vacate his belts, then offered “Pacman” a rematch after a record $220 million haul for their first match.
Mayweather soon changed his mind about a rematch with Pacquiao, however, and hinted that he might retire after one more fight in September.
Today (Tues., August 4, 2015) word came from Showtime Sports that “Money’s” next fight will come on September 12 against 30-3 opponent Andre Berto:

The 31-year-old Berto was last seen beating Josesito Lopez in March. The bout will reportedly be contested at either welterweight or 147 pounds according to Luke Thomas of MMAFighting.com.
The announcement comes in the midst of high-profile MMA fighters Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor recently calling Mayweather out for one reason or another. A report also surfaced that ‘Money’ tried to ‘jack’ bantamweight Aljamain Sterling’s girlfriend at a pool party.
Although it’s unknown as to whether this will be Mayweather’s last bout or not, the fight is expected to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
