Footage Shows Deontay Wilder Snubbing Tyson Fury’s Handshake After Trilogy Bout
Tyson Fury said Deontay Wilder was a sore loser after he TKO’d him in the rematch, and he stuck by that after he scored a KO win in the trilogy.
Fury and Wilder were going back-and-forth and it was a phenomenal fight but in the 11th round, Fury scored a KO win. After the result, Fury went to Wilder’s corner and offered to shake Wilder’s hand, but he claims the “Bronze Bomber” declined and now video shows that to be true.
As you can see in the video, Fury goes to Wilder and his corner and taps him on the shoulder, he does appear to stick out his hand but Wilder does nothing. Fury then points at him and says something to him and after the fight, he says the former heavyweight champ was once again a sore loser.
“It was a much different fight than Fight two, and a much different fight from Fight one,” Fury said after the fight. “He came in real heavy tonight, 238 pounds, and I believe that helped him and he was definitely hitting solid. But you know what, I thought that we fought it all out there and all allegations that were made towards me throughout the build-up of this fight, we fought like two warriors in there and I went over to shake his hand and say, ‘Well done,’ and he was like, ‘No, I don’t respect you.’
“I was like, how can you say I cheated when you know in your own heart and your full team knows that you just got beat fair and square,” Fury continued. “It’s just a sore loser in boxing, I’m sure he’s not the first one and he won’t be the last one, but I’ve acted like a gentleman throughout my career and that’s all I can do as a man.”
With the win, Tyson Fury defends his WBC heavyweight title and when and who he fights next is uncertain.
