Tyson Fury Believes Deontay Wilder ‘Has Lost His Marbles’ Since Rematch
Deontay Wilder hasn’t let go of his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury, though that’s evidently not what’s next. Wilder has come up with quite a few different excuses at different times for his defeat to Fury in their rematch.
These two first met on December 1, 2018, where they battled to a draw. Fury out-boxed Wilder pretty much the entire fight, but was viciously knocked down in the twelfth and final round. Fury was able to beat the ten count and finish out the round.
They each had two fights after their first, Wilder scored two knockouts, while Fury scored one knockout and one unanimous decision.
The second time they met was February 22, 2020, where Fury absolutely dominated Wilder to a TKO victory at 1:39 of round seven. It appears Wilder has taken too much damage. We love him, but these allegations he’s made don’t make any sense.
Surely, Fury doesn’t appreciate these claims made by ‘The Bronze Bomber’, but he did have a response to them:
“I think he has lost his marbles!”
“First of all it was the suit, then it was the bicep injury, then his trainer was on our team, then the referee was against him, then I had weights in my gloves. Now someone has spiked his water… It’s one of those things, isn’t it?”
Fury was expected to face an unnamed opponent in December, and it looks like that opponent may be Agit Kabayel on December 5.
These two can still have their trilogy, but Fury’s promoter Bob Arum mentions it may not happen until February 2021, in order to ensure fans can attend the event.
Fury doesn’t fancy the wait however, as he had this to say about the matter:
“I’m not going to wait around forever. The original date was July 18. That didn’t happen because he had an injury so it got put back three months to October. Then that didn’t happen because they were trying to get a venue.
“And then they had three dates in December – 5th, 12th, 19th – which I agreed to all of them and obviously that didn’t happen. So, I’m not going to wait around forever.”
These two are the only blemish on one another’s records. Fury’s only blemish is a draw, and Wilder’s only blemishes are a draw and a single defeat. Fury is 30-0 without Wilder, and Wilder is 42-0 without Fury.
Would you like to see their trilogy be next for them?
