George Kambosos Jr. Claims He’s ‘Very Zoned In’ Ahead Of Devin Haney Rematch: ‘You Wanna Doubt Me Again? Okay. I Will Win This Fight’
George Kambosos Jr. expects a much different outcome when he faces Devin Haney this weekend.
Kambosos Jr. is set to rematch Devin Haney at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on October 15. Kambosos Jr. is looking to reclaim his titles after his loss to Haney earlier this year which was rather one-sided.
Although many are expecting Haney to cruise to another win, Kambosos Jr. doesn’t think that will be the case. Instead, he says he likes being the hunter rather than the hunted and is most comfortable in this scenario which is why eh has confidence.
“I’ve always been the hunter, except for that last fight,” Kambosos Jr. said to Sporting News Australia. “It’s good to be back in that position. I embraced it and now I’m hunting again. This is fun for me. I’m back to doing what I do best. I’m back to the position where I’ve been most of my career so I feel very comfortable.”
Kambosos Jr. does have a point as not many people were giving him a chance against Teofimo Lopez and he pulled off the massive upset. Now, this time around, the Australian says he’s zoned in and plans to prove the doubters wrong.
“This time, I’m very zoned in. No distractions this time, minimal commitments and just coming to fight. October 16th is gonna be a great statement in my career again. You wanna doubt me again? Okay. I will win this fight.”
George Kambosos Jr. is 20-1 and before the loss to Haney, he beat Teofimo Lopez to become the new WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles. In his career, he also holds notable wins over Lee Selby, Mickey Bey, and Qamil Balla.
Do you think George Kambosos Jr. will beat Devin Haney in the rematch this weekend?
