Gervonta Davis Explains When He Lost Respect For Ryan Garcia: ‘He’s More Of A Bad Person Than Me’

Davis

Gervonta Davis says he no longer has respect for Ryan Garcia.

Davis and Garcia are set to fight on April 22 in a massive fight for the sport of boxing and both of their young careers. It’s a scrap both have called for, for quite some time and it will finally come to fruition in just a few weeks’ time.

In the lead-up to the fight, both men have taken shots at one another but Davis claims Garcia lied which is when he lost respect for him.

“Me losing respect for him just was like recently,” Davis said to FightHype.com. “First of all, he lied about [the contract]. Why would you even lie and put that out there that we put in the contract that you can’t drink no water or anything. You said it with a serious face. Of course people that’s not boxing fans gonna believe it. Some people in the boxing world believed it.”

Not only was Gervonta Davis disappointed that Ryan Garcia lied about the contract, he also thinks Garcia praising God but then gambling for the public to see is not a good look. With that, he believes Garcia is a hypocrite for it.

“He says ‘I praise God’ and everything but he drink a lot, he gamble a lot. He do all this stuff. I’m not saying it’s [bad], just don’t say ‘I’m this highly praise God person, I don’t do nothing wrong.’ Yeah, for sure [he’s a hypocrite]. Even on All Access [documentary], he was on the jet gambling. He need to relax. He only 24 … He’s more of a bad person than me,” Davis added.

Although the two do not like one another, they get to settle their differences on April 22 in Las Vegas.

Do you think Gervonta Davis will beat Ryan Garcia?
