Hector Luis Garcia Vows To Get Revenge For Javier Fortuna By Defeating Ryan Garcia After He Defeats Gervonta Davis
Hector Luis Garcia has his eyes set on Ryan Garcia after he defeats Gervonta Davis.
Garcia is set to headline a Showtime boxing pay-per-view against Davis on Saturday in a fight many have called a tune-up fight for Davis. Garcia is a massive underdog, but he isn’t letting that impact him at all.
“People have written me off before. This isn’t anything new,” Garcia told BoxingScene.com after being informed of the betting odds.
If Hector Luis Garcia does pull off the upset and beat Gervonta Davis he already has his callout in mind. According to Garcia, he says his goal is to fight Ryan Garcia and avenge his countryman’s Javier Fortuna’s loss to Garcia.
“Ryan Garcia is next. Once I take care of Tank, I will get revenge for my countryman Javier Fortuna (who was stopped by Ryan in July). He was already done when Ryan beat him. I am going to make him pay for elderly abuse,” said Garcia. “I will give him a lesson on Dominican boxing. Ryan does more talking than boxing. If he spent half as much time in the gym as he does talking, he would be Floyd Mayweather, Muhammad Ali and Roberto Duran wrapped into one.”
Before he can get that fight, however, Garcia will need to beat Davis which is easier said than done but he is confident in his skills.
“Davis is very talented. He is a very good fighter but skill for skill I am as good or better than him in every category,” said Garcia.
Hector Luis Garcia (16-0 and 3 No Contests) is coming off a decision win over Roger Gutierrez to win the WBA super featherweight title. In his career, he also holds notable wins over Chris Colbert and Avnar Yunusov.
