Jack Catterall Reacts To Shocking Josh Taylor Defeat: ‘Dreams Stolen’
Jack Catterall was only left heartbroken following his defeat to Josh Taylor.
Catterall challenged Taylor his 140-pound titles last night in Glasgow and seemingly did more than enough to get the victory on the scorecards.
Both fighters were given point deductions but Catterall largely outboxed Taylor and even scored a knockdown in the eighth round.
However, as we’ve come to know in boxing, that is never enough and two judges scored the contest for the hometown champion as Taylor earned a shocking split decision win.
Many in the boxing and combat sport world were outraged and reminded of how corrupt the sport can be at times.
However, none would be more outraged than Catterall who reacted like this after the verdict:
“What a load of sh*t!”
He would later release a statement:
“You know what hurts the most, it wasn’t for me I done all of this for my family my team my town and country. My baby girl and misses, our future. Today I should of been waking up with all of the belts. 15 months out the ring, they all wrote me off. Fucked me in every way possible for over two years, finally got the fight. Sacrificed everything to fight one of the top p4p ranked fighters, gave him a lesson. For what. Boxing shame on you. Judges 🖕🏽Dreams stolen 💔”
It remains to be seen if anything will happen to challenge these scorecards as this was as blatant a robbery as it can get.
