Jake Paul Believes He’s Now ‘One Of The Faces Of Boxing’
Jake Paul now believes he’s one of the faces of the sweet science.
Paul improved to 4-0 following a split decision victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in their eight-round boxing match.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer faced adversity as he was clearly staggered by a big right hand from Woodley in the fourth round.
However, Paul was the more active fighter throughout the eight rounds and ended up getting the split verdict.
Having passed his toughest test yet and being the headliner for one of the biggest events of the year in just his fourth professional fight, Paul now firmly believes he’s one of the faces of boxing.
“I think I’m one of the faces of boxing, just because I’m doing it differently,” Paul said. “There’s room for everyone to eat, though. I don’t want to take everything. This is a sport where there’s hundreds of amazing fighters.
“And all I want to do is bring more eyeballs from a different audience. Everyone here saw the crowd tonight. This wasn’t your typical boxing audience. … Ima bring that over, they’ll be fans of boxing and love all the other fighters. But yeah, I’m certainly top three biggest draws.”
It’s hard to argue against that as the event was certainly a huge mainstream affair while Woodley has already gone on record stating it was his biggest payday yet.
