Jake Paul Believes Tommy Fury Is A ‘Way Easier’ Fight Than Anderson Silva
Jake Paul doesn’t think Tommy Fury is as tough as an opponent as he has fought.
Paul picked up the biggest win of his career in October as he beat Anderson Silva by decision. It was a great performance from Paul but since then, it is uncertain who he will fight next. Nate Diaz is a free agent but the Fury fight is one many want to see.
Yet, for Jake Paul, he isn’t sure if the fight is necessary as he doesn’t think Tommy Fury is that good. He believes Anderson Silva is better than Fury, while he also worries about Fury pulling out again.
“Yeah, there’s definitely interest. I think if his team is taking the financial risk and putting the event on, then I’m cool with that,” Paul told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “I just don’t want to take the risk anymore because I think he’s going to back out, again, most likely. But it’s an easy fight for me. Way easier than Anderson.
“The kid’s a novice, he’s never fought anyone good,” Paul continued. “He’s never even fought an eight round fight. He just doesn’t have the experience like I do, which is crazy to say because he’s been doing it his whole life, but people call him a professional boxer and they respect him as a professional boxer. So I would love to strip that title from him. I wouldn’t even have to actually train for that fight. I would still train because I’m a professional, but I wouldn’t have to train to fight him.”
Jake Paul is currently 6-0 as a pro and before the win over Silva, he earned back-to-back wins over Tyron Woodley, with the rematch being by KO. He also holds notable wins over Ben Askren and Nate Robinson.
