Just a week out from a massive boxing clash in Arlington, polarizing puncher, Jake Paul is closing as a sizeable betting favorite to land the biggest victory of his fleeting career to date – as he prepares for a showdown with former world champion, Mike Tyson.

Paul, who enters his pairing with former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion, Tyson in the midst of a four-fight winning run, most recently landing his tenth career win earlier this summer.

And closing as a sizeable -250 betting favorite, Jake Paul’s fans and other punters alike can find the boxing betting odds quite favorable a week out from his pairing with Mike Tyson – with the 58-year-old closing as a decent +225 betting underdog.

Slated to make his first professional boxing outing since 2006, Tyson, a formidable puncher and one of the most ferocious knockout artists in the history of combat sports ended his lengthy career inside the squared circle off the back of a two-fight losing run.

First dropping a loss to Danny Williams, Tyson would then take on Kevin McBride the following year, suffering a stoppage defeat.

Brefily returning to the ring four years ago, New York veteran, Tyson fought fellow former undisputed world champion striker, Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition pairing in California, with the duo fighting to a split draw in their WBC-scored matchup.

Initially set to take on Tyson earlier this summer before the former was forced to withdraw from the Texas event citing an ulcer flare-up, Jake Paul instead took on the above-mentioned Perry in an impromptu pairing – and described earlier this week how he felt “numb” having received word Tyson was out.

Mike Tyson

“When I received the news that he was out and not able to fight, I was just numb,” Jake Paul said in the documentary, Countdown: Paul vs Tyson. “I was just like, ‘f***…’ I’m the type of person who likes a schedule and likes to know what I’m doing. This just threw a wrench in all of that. There was nothing I could do, it was out of my control.

“Nobody can tell Mike Tyson what to do, and if he wants to fight me, of course I’m going to say yes. This is the opportunity of a lifetime to fight one of the two most famous boxers to ever live – Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. I look at Mike Tyson as a killer, so I never really expected something like this.”

Over the course of his decorated career in professional boxing, Tyson a former undisputed heavyweight world championship winner, has turned in notable wins over a host of names including the likes of Marvis Frazier, Trevor Berbick, Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, Razor Ruddock, Frank Bruno, and Francois Botha.

In his final professional boxing win, Tyson turned in a first round knockout win over the controversial, Clifford Etienne in 2003 in Tennessee.
