Jake Paul Has Told His Management Team He Wants Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Next
Jake Paul has reportedly told his management team he is interested in boxing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. next.
His management team, Bavafa Sports took to Instagram to post a picture of Paul and Chavez Jr.’s record and said Paul asked for this fight.
Although Chavez Jr. has struggled as of late, there is no question he is a massive step-up in competition for Paul if he does take it. It would also be a legit boxer for Paul to fight, which is a complaint many have said about Paul that he isn’t facing real boxers.
Jake Paul (5-0) is coming off a KO win over Tyron Woodley on Saturday night. The fight was not the most entertaining one until the knockout punch which added a ton of value for Paul as his Showtime deal is over. Prior to the win over Woodley, he defeated Woodley back in August by split decision and back in April he knocked out Ben Askren in the first round. In his second pro boxing fight he knocked out Nate Robinson and in his debut, he TKO’d fellow YouTuber, AnEsonGib.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1 and one No Contest), is coming off the win over David Zegarra last weekend, in a fight that flew under the radar. Prior to that, he suffered a decision loss to Anderson Silva in June which was a disappointing loss as many thought he should’ve walked through Silva who was past his prime and was cut from the UFC after losing several in a row.
Whether or not Jake Paul will actually face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. next is uncertain. Chavez Jr. doesn’t speak English and may not be a big enough name to sell pay-per-views for Paul to take the fight.
