Jake Paul Named Third-Highest Paid Boxer In Last 12 Months, Canelo Leads The Way
Jake Paul had a terrific June 2020-May 2021 as he was the third-highest paid boxer.
According to sporting finance aggregator Sportico, from those months the brash YouTuber turned to boxer earned a whopping $20 million from his fights and endorsements outside of the ring. He fought twice against Nate Robinson and Ben Askren and only fought for about six-and-a-half minutes.
This will no doubt cause many boxing fans and fighters to get mad that Paul is getting paid so much. However, before entering the boxing world, he built himself a massive platform on social media and was a massive star which allowed him to earn million from the get-go.
He also recently signed with Showtime Boxing and they are teasing his next fight being announced soon. Tommy Fury has been calling him out while MMA fighters like Tyron Woodley and Dillon Danis have also taken shots at Paul. Due to the move to Showtime, Paul had said he was eager to improve his boxing career.
“Jake is proud of the events he participated in with Triller and appreciates the opportunities they afforded him,” Nakisa Bidarian, Paul’s advisor told ESPN. “Jake is excited to continue his boxing career with Showtime Boxing. Fight announcement coming soon.”
Triller, meanwhile, said fights with Paul ran their course and they look forward to see what he does in his future.
“We love Jake,” Kavanaugh said. “I wish Jake the absolute best. We had our two fights with him. … I think for us, we’ve gone the distance with him that we can go. We won’t be doing any more Jake fights.”
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, was the second-highest earner while Canelo Alvarez was the highest-paid boxer as he fought three times during that stretch. For those three fights against Callum Smith, Avni Yildrim and Billy Joe Saunders he earned roughly $54 million.
