Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren To Be Held In Mercedes-Benz Stadium

YouTube star, Jake Paul (2-0 boxing), is set to make his third professional boxing match against former MMA fighter and wrestler Ben Askren (0-0 boxing, 19-2 MMA). Paul previously featured on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s return to the sport against Roy Jones Jr.

However, Paul vs Askren will feature as the headline bout for Triller FC’s first event of 2021. The event is set to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium which serves as the home stadium for NFL team Atlanta Falcons, as well as the MLS’ Atlanta United. Paul vs Askren will be the first boxing event held at the stadium, which has previously hosted Super Bowl LIII.

Jake Paul is coming off two KO victories, over fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson. Paul also has an amateur win over another YouTuber in Deji Olatunji. Ben Askren is yet to make his boxing debut but has extensive experience in the sport of mixed martial arts. ‘Funky’ made impressive undefeated runs for both Bellator and One FC, before signing for the UFC. At the UFC he went 1-2, with his last fight against Damian Maia leading to his subsequent retirement. Askren has supposedly teamed up with legendary coach Freddie Roach, in order to assist with his transition over to the new sport.

The four-hour event will be held on April 17 at 8pm ET. The PPV main card is set to start an hour later at 9pm ET. There will be a variety of undercard fights that Triller are set to announce in the near future.
