Jake Paul Wants Professional Fight Against Floyd Mayweather
Jake Paul wants to fight Floyd Mayweather but will not face off against the boxing legend in an exhibition as his brother, Logan Paul will do on June 6 live on Showtime pay-per-view.
Last week, a press conference was held to announced Mayweather would face off against the internet celebrity next month. Jake Paul stole the show and Mayweather’s hat causing chaos to break out. ‘Money’ and his team jumped Paul who continued to mock ‘TBE’ throughout the ordeal.
The younger Paul brother is undefeated in three professional boxing matchups. Jake has looked good against extremely low-level opposition. In April, Paul quickly stopped former MMA champion, Ben Askren, who was thought to be the toughest test of his young career. Prior to that, Paul sensationally knocked out former NBA player, Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. Paul’s first professional fight came against fellow internet celebrity AnEsonGib.
Once Mayweather is done with his brother, the 24-year-old wants to have a proper fight with ‘Money’.
He’s even called on Mayweather to put his 50-0 record on the line when they square off.
“I don’t want to do exhibitions and I think that’s the difference between Floyd and I and even my brother and I. I want legitimate pro fights that are sanctioned, I want to build my pro record,” Paul said. I don’t think Floyd would actually fight me outside of an exhibition as he doesn’t want to risk his record.
“Maybe if we can come to some kind of agreement around that, I’d fight Floyd. But I’m not doing like the circus, exhibition sh*t.”
Mayweather hasn’t fought professionally since stretching his perfect record to 50-0 by beating UFC superstar, Conor McGregor in 2017.
