Janibek Alimkhanuly hospitalized Due To Severe dehydration, Andrei Mikhailovich Fight Cancelled
In a sudden and unfortunate turn of events, the middleweight title clash between IBF & WBO champion Janibek Alimkhanuly and Andrei Mikhailovich has been cancelled.
The 12-round bout, scheduled to take place inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Saturday night, was called off after Alimkhanuly fainted during his weight cut.
“We immediately took him to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he was put on an IV. While the scans showed no kidney damage, he was severely dehydrated and in no condition to fight,” Alimkhanuly’s manager Egis Klimas said.
The title clash was to be the headline fight of the evening. A 10-round lightweight clash between Raymond Muratalla and former world champion Tevin Farmer will now top the bill.
