Jermell Charlo Shares Prediction For Brian Mendoza vs. Tim Tszyu

Jermell Charlo has shared his prediction for the Oct. 14 fight between Tim Tszyu and Brian Mendoza.

Charlo and Tszyu have been linked to a fight for quite some time, but it never came to fruition due to injuries on Charlo’s side. Charlo then took a fight against Canelo Alvarez, and Tszyu claimed Alvarez would beat the American with ease.

Jermell Charlo is the current WBO light middleweight champion, but will be stripped once he steps into the ring against Alvarez. Once that happens, Tim Tszyu who is the interim champ will be promoted to undisputed.

Tszyu will defend the undisputed title for the first time on Oct. 14 in Australia as he takes on Brian Mendoza. Although Tszyu is the betting favorite, Charlo expects Mendoza to win the fight with ease.

“He can’t predict this fight. His prediction don’t matter. Tell him to go tell it to his fans. Who cares? I’m going to fight and make quadruple the money he ever will probably see his whole career. Tim Ta-Zoo hasn’t done sh!t in boxing,” Charlo told Ben Damon of Main Event (h/t BoxingScene). “Mendoza is knocking Tim Ta-Zoo out. Now what yah gonna say? Holler at me. Hey Australia, I love you all. I’ll be coming over there to eat some kangaroo meat with you, hang out in Sydney and party with you all.”

Regardless of the outcomes of the two fights, the hope for many boxing fans is that Jermell Charlo and Tim Tszyu will end up fighting one another soon. It’s a fight fans have wanted for quite some time, but before that happens, Charlo is focused on Alvarez.

Charlo enters the fight against Alvarez as the betting underdog but has plenty of confidence going into Saturday’s fight.
