Joe Joyce Blasts Anthony Joshua, Claims He Was Given Everything
Joe Joyce has ripped Anthony Joshua.
Joyce and Joshua know each other from their amateur days as members of Team GB. Joshua won gold at the 2012 Olympics while Joyce picked up silver in 2016. Since then, both have had good careers but recently, promoter Frank Warren hinted at a possible bout between Joshua and Joyce.
Joshua then heard those comments and issued a fiery response saying he stopped Joe in the first round in training and would do the same again.
“I boxed Joe and stopped him in 1 round. I’d do the same thing today! Ain’t nothing changed,” Joshua stated.
Although it took about a week, Joyce responded and blasted Joshua for saying he was handed everything in his career and is a glad cannon.
“And Anthony Joshua you [are] having a meltdown, where’s all your belts? All those sponsorships and endorsements helping? You’re a glass cannon, quit the act, you were given everything,” Joyce said.
Joe Joyce (13-0) is coming off a TKO win over Carlos Takam to retain the Commonwealth, WBC Silver and WBO International heavyweight titles. Prior to that, he knocked out Daniel Dubois in a highly-anticipated bout between two promising prospects. Joyce also holds notable wins over Iago Kiladze, Bermane Stiverne, Alexander Ustinov, and Bryant Jennings among others.
Anthony Joshua (24-2) lost his heavyweight titles for the second time as he dropped a decision to Oleksandr Usyk back in September. He was supposed to rematch Usyk in the near future but the heavyweight champ is defending his country of Ukraine. His other loss came to Andy Ruiz Jr. by knockout in his US debut in Madison Square Garden.
Joshua holds notable wins over Kubrat Pulev, Ruiz Jr., Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, Wladimir Klitschko, and Dillian Whyte among others.
