Joe Joyce Targets Three Fights In 2024, Details Changes In Training
Joe Joyce is hoping to be active in 2024 after he has changed his training camp.
Joyce is coming off back-to-back stoppage losses to Zhilei Zhang which were tough losses to deal with. He is now multiple wins away from getting a title shot, but Joyce says he doesn’t care about that.
Instead, Joe Joyce is just focused on his career as he says he’s looking to return in March and wants to fight three times in 2024. He also revealed he has made some changes to his training camp after the back-to-back losses.
“It’s water over the bridge after my defeat against Zhang now and I’m looking at steps ahead and Zhang meanwhile can continue what he’s doing and I aim to get back into the ring in March for an easier fight and then once I get back in there and if I win, then I’ll come for these big heavyweight fights,” Joyce said to Betway. I would fight anyone of them in Daniel Dubois, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker. There’s a lot of interesting fights out there these days, especially with what is happening in Saudi – there’s plenty of great fights but I need to get comfortable winning again and then go for a big test.
“Officially camp starts on January 8th and with small changes (in the team) as I’ll do my camp here (in England) so I won’t need to go to Las Vegas this time. There’ll be Steve Broughton heading the boxing training, and possibly another trainer for the strength and conditioning. I think I will have two or three fights this year,” Joyce continued.
Joe Joyce is 15-2 as a pro and coming off the back-to-back losses to Zhilei Zhang. Before that, the Olympic silver medalist scored a KO win over Joseph Parker. He also holds notable wins over Christian Hammer, Daniel Dubois, and Carlos Takam.
