John Fury: Deontay Wilder Still Most Dangerous Heavyweight Out There
Despite his lack of respect for Deontay Wilder as a man, John Fury still believes he is the most dangerous heavyweight out there.
Tyson Fury is set to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Wilder in their highly-anticipated trilogy fight taking place October 9 in Las Vegas.
Unlike their first two meetings, there will be plenty of real animosity between the pair after the things that were said by both fighters following Fury’s TKO win in their February 2020 rematch.
Wilder notably listed out a number of the craziest excuses for his defeat to Fury including accusations that the latter cheated and used an egg weight in his gloves.
That clearly angered Fury who revealed he would never give Wilder a rematch — until an arbitrator ruled that the American was contractually obligated to one.
And so, they will fight once again and despite Wilder’s stock decreasing heavily since his defeat to Fury, the latter’s father John still believes his son needs to be completely focused on the task at hand.
“Deontay Wilder’s still the most dangerous heavyweight out there,” the senior Fury said recently (via Michael Benson). “You’ve gotta give him respect. I hate him as a man. He’s not a man in fact, he’s a piece of rubbish, but that piece of rubbish can fight. So we’ve gotta get it right.”
No matter how poor one may regard Wilder’s boxing, there is certainly no denying that he has the most power in the heavyweight division.
