Joseph Diaz Signs Advisory Deal With MTK Global
IBF Super Featherweight Champion Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz (31-1, 15 KO) has teamed up with MTK Global on an advisory deal. The 27-year-old is now the third American boxer to recently sign with the management company following the signatures of Lorenzo Simpson and Jonathan Lopez.
“I’m very excited to announce that MTK Global and I are now working together,” Diaz said.
“As a professional athlete, it is very crucial to have a team looking out for my best interests, and I am proud to have MTK a part of it, with now being the most important time of my career.
“I’m looking forward to the next few years with MTK, and I will continue to prove what I’m about. Most importantly, I want to thank God for blessing me with everything I am and what I stand for.”
Lopez last fought in January when he captured the IBF super featherweight title in impressive fashion from Tevin Farmer. The California-native’s sole professional defeat was a unanimous decision loss to Gary Russell Jr in 2018 when Lopez challenged Russell for his WBC featherweight crown.
“His amazing record speaks for itself, and he’s one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world, so to have him sign with MTK Global is a massive statement of intent in terms of our expansion into America.” MTK Global CEO Bob Yalen said.
“His action-packed style means he is guaranteed to provide fireworks every time he steps through the ropes, and we’re proud to see how his amazing career unfolds.”
At the moment, there is no confirmed date as to when Diaz will return or who he is likely to face next, but hopefully, it will not be too long before he again laces up his gloves.
