Josh Taylor Loses All Five Belts Days After Unifying 140lbs Division, Slams United Airlines

Josh Taylor has slammed United Airlines after he lost all five of his belts just days after winning them.

On Saturday night, Taylor beat Jose Ramirez 114-112 to unify the 140-pound division. In the fight, Taylor dropped Ramirez twice in the scrap. With the win, the Scot became Britain’s first undisputed world champion in boxing’s four alphabelt era. However, on the way home, United Airlines lost his belts where he says they are somewhere in Dallas.

“I don’t know where they are, you’d better ask United Airlines. I think they’re somewhere in Dallas still,” Taylor said after arriving at Edinburgh Airport (via DailyMail). “They’ve lost my b****y belts! We’re waiting for them to come in. We’ve landed at Heathrow to get the bags and they’re not there so I’ve lost all of my belts. I’ve won my belts but I’ve lost them at the same time.

“No [I’m not worried], we’ve got all the stuff that we need to get so they’ll probably be here in the next day or two, but you couldn’t write it,” Taylor continued. “But it’s going to take a lot to take the smile off my face that’s for sure. I’m the happiest man alive at the minute.”

The hope for Taylor is he can get his belts back soon, which he thinks will happen. If he does get them back, this will just be a funny story he can talk about in the future.

Taylor, 30, is now 18-0 as a pro and is likely to fight Jack Catterall next time out. Prior to the win over Ramirez, he held notable wins over Regis Prograis, Apinun Khongsong and Ivan Baranchyk.
