Lucas Bahdi Knew He Would KO Ashton Sylve Despite Betting Odds
Lucas Bahdi knew the odds were stacked against him on Saturday.
Bahdi was taking on Ashton Sylve who is 20 and is signed to Jake Paul’s promotion and someone Paul has hyped up. The two were fighting on the Paul-Perry undercard and Sylve entered the fight as the betting underdog, but he pulled off the upset as he scored a sixth-round stoppage win.
“I knew it was only a matter of time before I get him,” Bahdi said in the post-fight press conference. “I knew he was going to be super tricky in the beginning, super fast, very good boxer, but I knew in the second half of the fight, his head was going to be in the middle, and I was going to catch him.”
Although Bahdi was the underdog, he says he felt confident he would catch Sylva and wasn’t surprised that it did play out like that.
“It was exactly what I thought I was going to do,” Bahdi said. “I hope I made a lot more fans tonight. I knew it was only a matter of time before I get him,” Badhi said. “I knew he was going to be super tricky in the beginning, super fast, very good boxer, but I knew the second half of the fight his head was going to be in the middle and I was going to catch him.”
Lucas Bahdi, meanwhile, is now a free agent and he’s open to any fight taking place.
“We are open to any opportunities that come our way,” Bahdi said regarding his future plans in the sport.
Bahdi is now 16-0 as a pro as the Canadian picked up one of the most notable wins of his career on Saturday.
