Manny Pacquiao Says He Wants $40 Million For Terence Crawford Fight

Manny Pacquiao is open to fighting Terence Crawford but wants $40 million to do so.

Pacquiao is still a big name in boxing and is actually on a three-fight winning streak and won the WBA (Super) welterweight title with a decision win over Keith Thurman. However, he has not fought since July of 2019 but when he returns, he is looking to face someone with a title and hints at Crawford.

“I like to fight somebody who has a title. We told Bob I get $40million and Crawford gets $10million, Pacquiao said to the Filipino Daily Tribune. “I will fight anybody. You know me, I don’t back away from any challenge. Bring ‘em on!”

According to Bob Arum, however, he says Bud Crawford is in a good place as his next fight will be against either Pacquiao or Shawn Porter.

“Shawn’s father, Kenny, came to see us, and we had preliminary discussions, and let’s see if it can happen,” said Arum to Fighthype about early talks about a fight between Shawn Porter and Crawford.

“There’s also Manny Pacquiao, who has said that he wants to fight Terence Crawford. Let’s see if that can happen, but as far as Crawford is concerned, he’s in a good position,” said Arum.

Yet, according to Bob Arum, he says Manny Pacquiao is the more ideal fight for Terence Crawford. Whether or not they will be able to come to terms is still uncertain at this point.

“Obviously, Manny because there’s more money in a Manny fight,” said Arum when asked which of the two fights are more probable for Crawford. I’m a big Shawn Porter fan; he’s a lovely kid and a brave warrior. No one in the welterweight division that goes in with Shawn Porter gets an easy fight. Absolutely, that’s what I would hope for, yeah,” Arum said when asked if he’s counting on Crawford facing Pacquiao or Porter next.
