Floyd Mayweather Jr Eyes Three Exhibition Bouts In 2021
As we all know by now, perhaps the greatest boxer to ever lace up the gloves, Floyd Mayweather Jr, has been taking part in exhibition boxing bouts more and more recently.
He was scheduled to face Logan Paul on February 20, 2021, until it was officially postponed a few days ago. There was no clear reason for the postponement, but sources believe it’s due to Covid-19.
We do not yet have the rescheduled date, but we have been enlightened of one thing, this isn’t the only exhibition bout Mayweather wants to be a part of in 2021.
Mayweather shared the following via Instagram: “This year I will focus on several exhibitions. I will have an exhibition in Tokyo, Japan again. Of course the one with Logan Paul and I ; and if Jake Paul can get past his next opponent Ben Askren, I will have an exhibition with him as well.
“I also heard that 50 cent would fight me but claims I’m too small. If he wants to lace up at the end of the year, we can do an exhibition then.
“I don’t care about weight class with any of these guys. The Paul brothers will make great money with the events, but with 50 cent It has to be “Winner Take All”.”
Some love to hate on these celebrity boxing bouts, but hey, it’s a spectacle, right?
If Mayweather was still the very best in the world, and he was still on top, it wouldn’t be cool for him to take fights with names like Tenshin Nasukawa or Logan Paul, but he isn’t on top anymore.
Therefore, no one’s being left out in the bigger picture, and we have other not-so-meaningful, yet intriguing bouts like this on completely different cards. It’s not so bad like many make it out to be.
