Mayweather vs. McGregor Undercard Live Results
It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, August 26th, 2017) will come in the form of the big Mayweather vs. McGregor event. Headlining the card are Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the undercard.
Gervonta Davis vs. Francisco Fonseca is next in an IBF junior lightweight title bout. A close fight throughout with both fighters finding their range well. Davis had some wide fluffy pants with tassells on his shoes, which were caught off in the second round. It was truly a show. Fonseca tripped up against the ropes late in the round and ate some big shots. Davis caught him with a hook that dropped him and the fight was over. Some thought that it was an illegal strike.
Badou Jack vs. Nathan Cleverly is next in a WBA light heavyweight title bout. Jack worked over the body over Cleverly well, which allowed him to set up some solid combos. Jack was able to pin him up against the ropes and pick him apart. This was some that took place several times early in the fight with Cleverly just covering up and trying to pick his shots. In round five, Jack landed a sick right hook the destroyed Cleverly with follow up shots to earn the stoppage victory.
Opening the main card on PPV is Andrew Tabiti vs. Steve Cunningham in a vacant USBA cruiserweight title bout. There was a true feeling out process in the early going. Cunningham seemed to be pressing the action and letting his hands go. Towards the middle rounds, Tabiti was able to get more comfortable and was landing some solid combos. As the fight was drawing near, it was clear that Tabiti was running away with this one. Tabiti was able to pull out the decision win.
