Mike Tyson Believes Jake Paul Will Defeat Tyron Woodley
Former heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson believes Jake Paul will beat Tyron Woodley on Sunday in Cleveland, Ohio on Showtime pay-per-view.
Paul, who is a former Disney and YouTube star, has turned to boxing is 3-0 as a pro and picked up the biggest win of his career back in April as he knocked out Ben Askren in the first round. Woodley, meanwhile, is a former UFC welterweight champion but is on a four-fight losing skid.
It’s an intriguing matchup but for Tyson, he believes Paul will be getting his hand raised. He also thinks this is just a final payday for Woodley.
“I’m proud of them. Are they gonna fight? He’s fighting an experienced fighter. That’s so cool,” Tyson stated on his podcast (via BoxingScene). “I don’t know. Paul’s a real good striker, and I think people do him a disservice when they go in there and say, ‘He’s blonde-haired and blue-eyed, he’s a white boy’, and I think that also builds their [opponent’s] courage up and causes them to get knocked out. Jake’s gonna beat him. Woodley’s not a puncher like that, that’s why he wants to fight this guy, to get his last payday probably.”
Jake Paul has had some success in boxing as he has three knockouts with two in the first round and one in the second against former NBA star, Nate Robinson. However, this fight against Woodley will be the toughest fight of his career as Woodley does have KO power but he hasn’t looked good as of late and there’s no question he is past his prime.
If Paul does get his hand raised, who he would fight next is uncertain. He could face Tommy Fury who is on his undercard.
