Mike Tyson Feeling Good For Rescheduled Jake Paul Bout After Health Scare
Mike Tyson says he is feeling good and ready for his rescheduled bout against Jake Paul.
Tyson and Paul were set to box on July 20, but the former heavyweight champ had a health scare which forced him out of the bout. The two are now set to box on November 15 and ahead of the rebooking, Tyson says he is feeling good.
“Hey listen, I’m just ready,” Tyson said at the press conference, via AP… “I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I’m better. I feel good.”
With Mike Tyson feeling better, he is eager to box Jake Paul as he has confidence he will KO the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
“Because I can. Who else can do it but me? Who else is he going to fight to make this happen?” Tyson said, motioning toward the crowd at a packed press conference where fans cheered the former heavyweight champion and booed Paul. We’ve just got to listen to the facts. We’ve got a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter that ever lived…
“Hey, listen, as soon as I catch this guy, it’s over,” Tyson added. “Jake Paul is going to be running around the ring, but as soon as I catch this guy, it’s going to be totally over… I’m very prepared to knock out Jake Paul. I’m very prepared.”
Mike Tyson is 58-years-old and hasn’t boxed professionally since 2005 but did have an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which was ruled a draw.
Tyson is 50-6 and two NCs as a pro and was the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. He also holds the record as the youngest UFC heavyweight champion ever, and was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.
