Mike Tyson Reveals He Used To Cry Before Some Boxing Matches
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson revealed he used to cry before some of his fights.
Tyson is still regarded as the baddest man on the planet and was known for driving fear into his opponents well before they are opposite each other in the ring during his prime. Not to mention, the explosive knockout power that he carried for many years.
But despite being one of the most intimidating figures in all of sports, Tyson surprised many on a recent episode of his podcast with Claressa Shields as the guest when he revealed he had self-esteem issues.
In fact, he actually used to cry before some of his fights.
“Some of them…” Tyson said after Shields asked if he really cried before his fights. “That’s who I am…
“I’m pretty scared and by being scared, I’m really just like ‘I’m gonna do something bad to this guy that his family’s not gonna like. Then I’ma be really guilty and feel really bad at the end.’ Yeah, that’s how I fight.”
Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005 but made his comeback in an exhibition boxing match last November against Roy Jones Jr.
The 55-year-old looked impressive in his comeback as both him and Jones fought to a draw. Tyson has hinted at competing again in 2022 with Logan Paul being his likely opponent.
