Mike Tyson Predicts ‘A Lot Of Pain’ In Roy Jones Jr Exhibition Bout
The youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson has shared his thoughts and prediction on his upcoming pay-per-view exhibition clash with fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr.
Tyson versus Jones will go down on November 28, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The 54-year-old Tyson and 51-year-old Jones have given a lot to the media in build up for this fight, which makes things very exciting, making us want to see it even more. We can only hope they start doing this with every fight.
Tyson stated we can all expect a “vintage performance” out of himself, which is also quite exciting. There aren’t many, if any fighters out there that were as entertaining and scary as Tyson.
Tyson predicted: “Pain, baby, pain. A lot of pain.”
Despite being in their 50’s, both men have stated they’re imagining facing the most dangerous version of one another, that they aren’t taking the bout lightly, but taking it more seriously than they ever have any other fight.
Tyson continued: “Hey, I anticipate fighting Roy Jones in his prime. I’m not thinking about his past and the fights he lost. I anticipate fighting the guy who’s the best fighter on the planet in his prime. So that’s what I’m going in there and preparing to do.”
The two boxing legends will face off in an eight-two minute round exhibition bout with no headgear and 12 oz gloves, just two oz bigger than what is normally used, depending on the specific fight and promoter.
It’s good to hear that at least, they don’t have to wear headgear, and their gloves aren’t massive 16 oz blocks on their fists. It is unfortunate that the round time was cut by a third, but this is still an epic main event between two of the best to ever do it.
Who do you see winning this insane comeback of the legends fight?
