Mike Tyson has shared his prediction for the upcoming heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.
Tyson and Fury are set to unify the heavyweight division in a highly-anticipated bout. It’s arguably the biggest fight in boxing, and Tyson is excited about the matchup and he believes Fury will get his hand raised.
“I look forward to that fight [Fury Vs. Usyk]. That is going to be an interesting fight,” Tyson told FightHype. “I’m going towards Tyson Fury because I think he’s just going to overpower him. He’s going to catch up with him and overpower him. I got to go with Fury. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division. Great fighters lose, great fighters look bad, that doesn’t stop them from being great fighters.”
Currently, the oddsmakers have the fight as a pick’em, but Mike Tyson is leaning towards Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk.
As for Mike Tyson, he’s set to return to the ring on July 20 against Jake Paul, with the bout airing live on Netflix. It’s an intriguing matchup and Tyson is excited about it as he wants to shake up the boxing world.
“It was a no-brainer. He was a new up-and-coming guy on the scene, and I like shaking the sports world to its core and I’m doing it now. It’s just something I want to do… I wanted the shorter rounds because I wanted more action. If we only have two minutes, we’ll fight more,” Tyson said at the press conference.
Tyson hasn’t fought professionally since 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride. He did box Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout in 2020 which went to the decision and was ruled a draw.
