Oleksandr Usyk responds to Tyson Fury’s retirement

Oleksandr Usyk has given his thoughts on Tyson Fury‘s recent retirement from professional boxing.
As we know, Oleksandr Usyk is the best heavyweight boxer in the world today – and arguably the best boxer regardless of weight class (although many will debate that). He has served as a dominant champion, with two of his most notable wins being his excellent triumphs over Tyson Fury.
Recently, Tyson Fury decided to announce that he would be retiring from the sport. This is something he’s done before, leading many to wonder whether or not he’ll end up reversing his decision. For Oleksandr Usyk, he does in fact believe that we’ll see ‘The Gypsy King’ back in the ring at some point in the future.
Oleksandr Usyk’s view on Tyson Fury’s retirement
“I don’t think about it but I think it is not true,” he told talkSPORT.com in an unprecedented exclusive interview on the London Eye.
“Once Tyson has relaxed, and rested, maybe Tyson will be back. Boxing if you do this for a long time: 10, 15, 20, 25 years then boxing is like a drug. If you don’t go to training one day then you feel dead. For me, at least.
“I train every day. I don’t do boxing every day. Sometimes I do crossfit, and running training.
“I only do boxing when I am in my camp.”

It’s doubtful that Tyson Fury will ever get another crack at Oleksandr Usyk. Either way, though, the two will forever be intertwined as a result of their two bouts together.
For Oleksandr Usyk, though, it certainly seems as if he acknowledges the impact this sport has on your life. It’s incredibly addictive for many, and given the impulsive and somewhat random nature of Tyson’s announcement, you’d have to think there’s a good chance he’ll come back.
