Regis Prograis Calls For Fight With Jack Catterall
Regis Prograis is hoping to secure a fight with Jack Catterall next time out.
Prograis is coming off a one-sided decision loss to Devin Haney and he’s looking to rebuild himself as a contender. Although Prograis dropped the fight to Haney, he still has confidence he can become world champion again.
“Every time someone fights at 140 pounds, the division is shifting,” Prograis told BoxingScene. “They look bad, and then they look good. The cards keep shifting, but I am still in the mix. It’s all about the bounceback. The greatest fighters have done it, which I plan on doing, too. My goal is to become a three-time world champion. Give me a comeback fight and let’s get into them. I want to fight good fighters. I want the belts. … Boxing is crazy, and sometimes you don’t get the fights you want.”
In his next fight, Prograis tells the outlet that Jack Catterall, Subriel Matias, and Dalton Smith as potential next fights for him. Whether or not Prograis will get a fight against any of them is unclear, but regardless, Prograis makes it clear that he will be world champion again.
“I’m self-reflecting to get better,” said Prograis. “It makes no sense to risk your life if you don’t want to get better. I’m about investing in myself. I have no doubt in my mind that I will be a world champion once again.”
Regis Prograis is currently 29-2 and coming off the loss to Haney. Before the setback, he was on a five-fight winning streak as he had wins over Danielito Zorrilla, Jose Zepeda, Tyrone McKenna, Ivan Redkach, and Juan Heraldez as his other loss came by majority decision to Josh Taylor.
