Regis Prograis Claims Jack Catterall Resume Doesn’t Match Up With His
Regis Prograis doesn’t think Jack Catterall’s resume compares to his and who he has fought and beaten.
Prograis and Catterall are set to box on Oct. 26 in Manchester, England in an intriguing matchup. Heading into the bout, Prograis doesn’t think Catterall is in the same category as him in terms of talent and skill.
“I really don’t see that he’s a better fighter than me,” Prograis said to Boxing Social. “Look at my resume. I fought better boxers. I fought bigger punchers. I fought people with more experience. I’m not trying to down nobody or nothing like that, but you have to compare resumes. What is his knockout rate? Like a few knockouts or something like that.
“Compare our resumes. The only thing was, he got famous from a Josh Taylor thing, and really that was it. But as far as anything else, look at my resume, look at the champions I fought, look at the ex-champions I fought. How many people did I fight that never been stopped, that never been dropped? We can go down the line of the people that I fought and what I did. It’s really no comparison,” Prograis added.
Regis Prograis is 29-2 as a pro and coming off a loss to Devin Haney. He’s the former WBC light welterweight champion as well as WBA light welterweight champion.
Although Jack Catterall has fought for titles before, Prograis doesn’t think the Brit is on his level and he plans to prove that.
“I’m not going to say he’s not a decent fighter, but I feel like my level is not the same level. He’s not on the same level as me,” Prograis said. “I feel like I’m definitely more superior. Even with the two bad performances I had, I still feel like I’m more superior, and that was all mental stuff going on with me. Physically, if you put the same Regis in there physically that was a champion and then a two-time champion, you put that Regis in with Jack Catterall, there’s no comparison.”
