Report: Resolution Expected Soon In Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury Arbitration
A resolution is expected soon in the longstanding arbitration case involving Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.
Wilder opened up the case back in November after Fury moved on from their planned trilogy fight to focus on a title unification clash with Anthony Joshua after the rematch clause supposedly expired.
There hasn’t been an update since. Until now.
“Sources: Resolution expected in Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder arbitration in coming days, potentially by Monday,” The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger reported. “The dispute surrounds the rematch clause: is Wilder owed a third fight? Former judge Daniel Weinstein will rule. Will Wilder be awarded damages? Will Fury simply move on?
“This goes on, of course, against the backdrop of efforts to finalize Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua for early August in Saudi Arabia, with Aug. 14 in Riyadh being eyed, per sources.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how the case is ruled and whether it has any impact on a Joshua vs. Fury fight.
One thing is for sure, though — the majority of the boxing world would rather watch Fury throw down with Joshua in Saudi Arabia next as opposed to Wilder.
