Ricky Hatton Explains Why Tommy Fury Beats Jake Paul ‘All Day Long’
Ricky Hatton believes Tommy Fury would defeat Jake Paul should the two rivals end up fighting in the squared circle.
Fury and Paul have been matched together twice but both times the bout fell apart because of Fury. However, the two continue to trade shots at one another and both have called for the fight to happen next year.
If the two do end up fighting, Hatton believes Fury would get his hand raised, despite him being the betting underdog when they were matched up with one another.
“I think Tommy Fury beats Jake all day long, as long as he gets a few more rounds in the bank. Jake Paul has done more rounds than Tommy Fury. Once Tommy has banged out a few six-rounders and got a few eight-rounders under his belt, then I think it’s a no-contest,” Hatton said to Fair Betting Sites. “As he hasn’t done too many rounds himself, he probably hasn’t got that natural stamina. It’s not just for Tommy, it’s for Mayweather, for me – you need those rounds under your belt and so far Tommy’s not done that yet and that’s the only thing that gives Jake Paul half a chance. If Tommy got a few rounds under his belt and built that stamina up then I think it’s an easy fight for Tommy.”
Although Ricky Hatton thinks Tyson Fury would get his hand raised, he does give credit to Jake Paul. He admits what Paul is doing is good for the sport as it brings more eyes to it and the YouTuber-turned-boxer is a real box office star.
Both Fury and Paul are undefeated as pros and although Paul hasn’t fought any real boxers, he still has fought legit MMA fighters while many are critical of who Fury has fought.
