Ronda Rousey Isn’t Surprised Her Latest PPV Beat Floyd Mayweather’s

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has had a highly publicized feud with pound-for-pound boxing great Floyd Mayweather dating back to ‘Money’s’ insistence that he didn’t know who ‘he’ (Rousey) was.

‘Rowdy’ upped the ante by asking Mayweather how it felt to get beat by a girl for once after she edged him for 2015’s ‘Fight of the Year’ ESPY, and Mayweather simply replied by telling her to call him when she made $300 million, the estimated haul he took in for his hyped but highly disappointing ‘Fight of the Century’ against Manny Pacquiao earlier this year.

Rousey fired back by breaking down some numbers, stating that she actually thought he did in fact make more per second than Mayweather, but with the prospects of them ever fighting it out slim to none, it all became a little contrived and tiresome.

Yet it doesnt appear to die, as some evidence has reportedly surfaced that Rousey does indeed have the upper hand on Mayweahter. That came in the fact that Rousey’s latest pay-per-view (PPV) showing, a wildly popular 34-second knockout of Bethe Correia in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, reportedly outdrew Mayweather’s latest ‘event,’ a September 12 coasting over Andre Berto that drew low PPV numbers to say the least.

The decision win was supposedly ‘Money’s’ last fight ever, and his poor numbers for his fight with Berto undoubtedly had a lot to do with how much his win over Pacquiao failed to live up to the almost unattainable buildup.

Rousey believes that to be the case, telling TMZ that she wasn’t surprised that she beat Mayweather in the PPV arena given how badly people were angered by his snoozefest against ‘Pacman’:

“Really?!,” she said. “I’m not surprised, a lot of people were p***ed after that Pacquiao fight, so…”

Rousey chose to take a much calmer route this time around, not necessarily talking an trash to Mayweather and seeming to quietly revel in her moral victory over the controversial boxing great.

She’s obviously passed him by as a PPV draw at this point, and while her fights are far from competitive, the last thing she does is run from her opponents. Will her buyrates continue to soar as time goes on, or will people finally grow tired of her one-sided beatdowns?
