Ryan Garcia Says Even At ’65 Percent’ He Destroys Javier Fortuna
Ryan Garcia doesn’t even think he will need to be at his best to beat Javier Fortuna on Saturday night.
Garcia is set to headline a DAZN card at the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday night in Los Angeles, California. The rising star is making a quick turnaround after his April win over Emmanuel Tagoe and should he get past Fortuna, he can finally start facing the best of the division.
Although Fortuna is a respected veteran, Garcia believes he will run through him on Saturday night and prove just how good he is.
“I am having a great time. I am supreme confidence. I’ve worked my ass off. This game is about adjustments, you can’t bank on the same thing every day. What matters most that you do the best that you can with the hand you are dealt with in that moment,” Garcia said… “It doesn’t matter if you are not 100%. We are at the point where that doesn’t even matter. I am at the point that it wouldn’t matter if I am at 65%, I am destroying Fortuna. He cannot beat me. I am levels above him.”
Ryan Garcia is a massive betting favorite and is expected to run through Fortuna and improve to 22-0. Should he win, he has also been vocal in wanting to fight Tank Davis next but Garcia makes it clear he is not looking past the veteran.
“It’s the same thing for Fortuna. I know that I’m fighting Fortuna. It’s no secret, but I also know that Gervonta is up next. I’ll talk about it, but it’s not like I’m losing focus on Fortuna,” Garcia said. “People can’t separate their mind thing. They can’t multitask. I just know that when I’m talking about Tank for a future fight. When I’m talking about Fortuna, it’s about a present fight. I know how to separate the two. Now people could call it however they want.”
