Seniesa Estrada Scores Stunning 7 Second KO On Vergil Ortiz Jr. – Samuel Vargas Undercard (Video)
It was fast. It was brutal, and it was memorable. If you had not heard of Seniesa Estrada (19-0, 8 KO) before today, you will certainly know her name after tonight.
The undefeated 28-year-old faced off against Miranda Adkins (5-1, 5 KO) on the undercard of today’s (Fri. July 24) Vergil Ortiz Jr. – Samuel Vargas clash in a junior flyweight bout, and needed only seven seconds to send Adkins to the canvas.
You could say the bout was one-way traffic, but in reality, Estrada did not even leave her driveway before the fight was over. The L.A. native was originally set to face Jacky Calvo, who withdrew from the contest due to knee injury. To her credit she was gracious in victory and was quick to praise Adkins for taking such a tough fight on short notice.
“I give Adkins so much credit and so much respect. She was the one who stepped up and took the fight,” Estrada said in her post-fight interview.
” We were trying to get world champions former champions and current champions, but because of the Covid situation, that wasn’t able to happen. Miranda was the only one who stepped up and accepted the fight.”
Estrada will now turn her attention to securing a title fight at either 105 or 108 pounds.
What did you think of that KO?
