Shakur Stevenson Vows To ‘Whoop’ Edwin De Los Santos’ ‘Ass’
Shakur Stevenson is confident he will put a beating on Edwin De Los Santos on Thursday night.
Stevenson is set to face De Los Santos for the vacant WBC lightweight world title at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s an intriguing matchup and one that Stevenson is a big favorite in. He’s -1200 but Stevenson knows he can’t overlook De Los Santos as he says he is a tough out for anyone.
“I can’t wait. It’s going to be very exciting. You’ve got the tough Edwin De Los Santos, but I’m here to whoop his ass,” Stevenson vowed (h/t BoxingScene).
Edwin De Los Santos is 16-1 as a pro and coming off a decision win over Joseph Adorno back in July to extend his win streak to three.
Heading into the fight, Shakur Stevenson believes that come the fourth round, he will have figured De Los Santos out and cruise to a stoppage win.
“We can’t think about what comes after. I’m not worried about after. We’ve got a job to do Thursday night. I’m coming here to get my belt,” Stevenson said… “I think that Edwin is a good fighter. I think he’s more of a boxer than what he’s trying to act like. So, he’s going to try to move around. And I’m going to figure him out by the fourth round.”
Shakur Stevenson is 20-0 as a pro and coming off a TKO win over Shuichiro Yoshino back in April. Prior to that, he beat Robson Conceicao, Oscar Valdez, and Jamel Herring. He’s also the former WBO featherweight champion and the WBO super featherweight champion, as well as holding the WBC and The Ring super featherweight champion.
