Shane Mosley Jr. Parts Ways With Golden Boy Promotions
Shane Mosley Jr. has parted ways with Golden Boy Promotions, his team announced in a press release.
Mosley Jr. had been with Golden Boy Promotions since March of 2020 but decided to leave the promotion.
“I want to thank Golden Boy Promotions for everything they’ve done for me over the years. They’ve been instrumental in getting me to where I am today, and I’m excited for what the future holds as a free agent,” Mosley Jr. said in a statement. “I’ll be watching the Erislandy Lara vs. Danny Garcia fight very closely. I want the winner, but I’m ready for any of the champions at 160 pounds. I’ve worked hard to get here, and now it’s time to take advantage of all that hard work.”
It’s unclear where Shane Mosley Jr. will go, but his team says they are looking to secure the biggest fights possible. The 33-year-old is in the prime of his career and could fight for a belt next time out at 160lbs which he says is his goal.
“Shane is in an incredible position right now,” said Mike Leanardi, Mosley’s manager and the CEO of Victory Sports Ent. “As a top contender in all sanctioning bodies, we have a lot of options on the table. Our goal is to secure the biggest fights possible and bring Shane a world title opportunity in the near future.”
Mosley Jr. is 22-4 as a pro and is the son of Hall of Famer Shane Mosley. He is coming off the biggest win of his career as he beat Daniel Jacobs by decision back in July. Mosley Jr. is riding a five-fight winning streak, but has had an up-and-down career as he lost his fourth pro fight.
