T-Mobile Arena Approved By NSAC For Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder Trilogy
The trilogy between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder now has a venue.
The pair will compete for the WBC heavyweight title for a third time in a pay-per-view event currently slated for July 24 in Las Vegas.
And the venue looks to be the T-Mobile Arena as event co-promoters Top Rank and TGB Promotions recently placed a hold on the venue.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) approved the request during its monthly agenda hearing on Tuesday as per Boxing Scene.
Fury last competed in February 2020 when he TKO’d Wilder in the seventh round to become the new WBC heavyweight champion. That bout notably took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
It looked like Fury would go on to challenge Anthony Joshua in a title unification clash later this year after Wilder’s rematch clause had seemingly expired.
However, just a few days after Fury announced the fight with Joshua, an arbitrator ruled that Wilder was contractually obligated to a trilogy which is what led us here.
It’s still a big fight, but hopefully we get to see the winner go on to face Joshua later on in the year and unify the division completely.
